Position Title: Computer Science Teacher 912

SUMMARY:The Computer Science Teacher is responsible for instructing computer science to students at the high school level on how computers work from the basic science and mathematics behind their operation to the actual hardware and the software built on those foundations. The Computer Science Teacher will specifically teach students to create test and implement network disaster recovery plans install firewalls data encryption and other security measures understand cyber security best practices and the concept of ethical hacking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE:Bachelors degree required; field of study correlated to teaching assignment as a computer science teacher. A standard license will be able to add the 412 computer science endorsement to their license by taking and meeting the ADE approved cut score on the Praxis Computer Science #5651 exam and submitting an Arkansas Educator Licensure Application. Teachers with experience are valued; however no prior experience is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:A professional industry certificationCompTIA (A Cloud Linux Network Mobility Security Server) ; experience in networking systems information technology or network security is recommended. Successful completion of preemployment background checks. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students other staff members and the general public. Stipends may be paid for the appropriate technical certifications.
