The Company

BSG customizes services to the exact needs and locations of clients ensuring that solutions meet precise specifications including logistics crew transfers housekeeping catering and the fulfillment of all HSE requirements.
The Opportunity
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the contractual obligations for the Floatel and direct liaison with clients within the established operational health and safety and other policies and procedures of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daytoday operations of the accommodation and support vessels
- Providing coaching leadership and guidance to all department heads and managers
- Act as the primary liaison with all key project stakeholders (client ship owners shoreside operations team subcontractors etc.
- Forecast requirements; assist in the preparation of budgets schedule expenditures etc.
- Complete budget analysis monthly and report on variances taking corrective actions where necessary
- Work closely with the corporate head office
- Ensure the process is followed for contract management
- Guide department heads to ensure labour is managed efficiently and appropriately reflects clientplanned manning curves
- Routine reporting per corporate and client requirements
- Work closely with the vessel owners crew (deck and engine)
- Provide regular input and actively participate in all continuous improvement plans
- Maintain a safe healthy work environment by ensuring operational HSE compliance including compliance to HSE regulations and implementation of enhancement initiatives with the support of the HSE department
- Participate in the recruitment of new team members selection and onboarding
- Communicate job expectations and provide coaching and training
- Working with department heads ensure that scheduled performance reviews are conducted for all crew members
- Prioritize the safety of crew members in all aspects of the operation
- Lead with strong safety leadership through desirable behaviors attitudes and mindset to further develop our culture of safety
Qualifications
- 12 years of experience in a hospitality operation (guest services room management and food & beverage)
- 35 years of previous experience in leading a project preferably in the role of Operations Manager or Project Manager
- 12 years of experience in a hospitality operation (guest services room management and food & beverage)
- Knowledge of the technical functions and operational components of large format vessels specifically RoRo or passenger vessels
- Valid Marine First Aid and CPR
- Valid STCW95
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment without prior notice
- Excellent comprehension and command of the English language (written and verbal)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Working Conditions
- Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Frequent kneeling pushing pulling and lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps
