Job Description
Compensation range:
$21.03 $26.94Your rate of pay will be based on applicable experience
Shift: Varied Shift length: 8 HoursDays off: Variable
Hours per pay period: 12
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Laboratory Technical Assistant preprocesses specimens by receiving labeling and loading the specimen(s) onto analyzers. They routinely perform routine and specialized assignments and demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the procedures in the areas of a clinical laboratory under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
A minimum of two years of college course work working towards a degree in Biology Chemistry Microbiology Biochemistry Nursing Clinical Laboratory Scientist or other related science degree.
Desired:
Certified Phlebotomy Certification
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel software programs. Must be able to follow instructions work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Basic computer skills. Must be aware of chemical hygiene protocols and handling requirements of biohazard materials. Must know and follow all universal precautions. Organizational and multitasking skills are essential. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
