Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is looking to hire a Field Superintendent for its eastern region to be based out of DMVs Richmond or Virginia Beach locations.
This handson supervisory position is responsible for directing all phases of a comprehensive buildings and grounds maintenance program for the Department of Motor Vehicles Field Operations. Responsibilities include supervision of buildings & grounds maintenance facilities landscaping power plant operation renovation projects & related services for the Eastern Region of DMVs property portfolio. In absence of Trades Manager I (position #00851 serves as backup for related activities regarding maintenance/repair of the headquarters facility. This position is vital in establishing the Preventative Maintenance Program and coordinating work for reactive response pertaining to urgent and emergency actions.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable experience complying with building codes and regulations.
Considerable experience and knowledge of building materials methods and using tools involved in construction.
Work experience in managing material and equipment storage.
Considerable experience complying with federal local and state laws and regulations.
Considerable experience managing multiple projects and work activities.
Extensive knowledge of building operations and systems.
Progressive experience trouble shooting pneumatic and electrical systems to identify problems and minimize equipment downtime.
Proficient at reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
Experience with delegating work to employees based on skill sets and business needs.
Proficient with procurement practices policies and procedures.
Journey level experience in multiple trades
