Job Description:

Caterpillar is seeking a Configuration Design Engineer OffHighway Trucks in Decatur IL. In this role you will report to the Current Production Engineering Manager and will be primarily responsible for overseeing concepts architects and integrates new products components or technologies. As a member of the Offhighway Truck Engineering team you will need to have a growth mindset promote continuous improvement and help build a defectfree culture. What you will do:

Researching and developing design parameters performance characteristics and technical specifications of new products and components.
Guiding the evolution of the technical design technical project planning performance analysis and development testing. Participating in supplier selection and capabilities assessment.
Monitoring exploring and testing new technologies materials and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities.

Degree Requirement:

• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering Computer Science or Materials Science curriculum.

ComputerAided Design & Engineering:
Generates specifications for parts or components with CAD software.
Reuses design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
Uses CAD to perform basic drafting such as wire frames solid objects and array of objects.
Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views.

Product Design MFG:
Participates in the conception process of a manufacturing product vision.
Collects and analyzes customer and market requirements and generates reports.
Utilizes design methods to implement the construction of a new design model.
Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.
Assists in the testing and refinement of a new product design.

Product Design and Development:
Builds threedimensional models with basic materials.
Communicates with professionals to understand various requirements of product design.
Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use.
Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.
Assists in building a complex prototype of product.

• The primary location for this position is Decatur IL
• Domestic relocation assistance is available
