Job Description

We are currently seeking a Food Service Cook forWashingtonHigh School for the 2526 School Year. This position is about5.75 hours per day 8:15am 2:30pm. The starting pay range for this position is $14.68/hr $17.72/hr depending on experience. For specific questions regarding this position please email .

POSITION SUMMARY Primary purpose of job)

Food service staff are responsible for preparation and delivery of meals within the educational environment.

SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE (Supervisory scope district impact and budgetary responsibility)

Food service staff duties may include preparing and serving meals operating systems consistent with meal purchases inventory and cleaning the kitchen.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Major duties which the position exists to perform)

  1. Prepare and serve meals and snacks to students safely utilizing kitchen tools and equipment.
  2. Clean and sanitize cooking and serving areas.
  3. Setup and breakdown serving lines and/or manage the efficient flow of students in order to obtain and pay for their food.
  4. Operate the operating system utilized for meal purchases.
  5. Adhere to food safety and sanitation procedures as directed.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
  7. Regular and reliable attendance as it aligns to the scope of this position.

OTHER DUTIES (duties which the incumbent can be expected to perform)

  1. Additional duties necessary for special events or to assist in an emergency situation.
  2. Assist with occasional work such annual inventories and/or larger cleaning projects.
  3. Occasional or sporadic duties such as participating on an interview committee covering a duty of a colleague etc.
  4. Participate in professional development activities and/or training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimal student supervisory duties required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum educational requirements licenses skills and experience required as well as preferred options)

Experience with large scale food preparation preferred.

School kitchen and cafeteria environment

The environment will have extreme temperatures during meal preparation and is loud when students are in the area. There is a greater than average risk of minor burns and cuts.
