Job Description

The Purchasing Specialist will work in the Jonesboro AR office. This is not a remote position.

Scope: The purchasing specialist is assigned to handle purchasing processes and decisions for the business while adhering to an assigned budget. The PS must also keep track of all records and data as they pertain to company purchases and bids submitted to vendors. They are also charged with reporting this information to their supervisor on a regular basis. The duties of this position entail purchasing businessrelated items and equipment as well as negotiating with various vendors to ensure that a fair price for goods and services is being received. The PS will also make bids for goods and services on behalf of a company.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 12 years purchasing experience in a B2B environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position including but not limited to Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
  • Professional communication with vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently within a teamoriented organization
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skillsincluding prioritization
  • Ability to meet deadlines that are often tight and variable
  • Experience with technology is a plus.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Occasional travel to off site customer locations as needed. Ability to read write and communicate orally and in writing to external and internal customers and employees. Normal vision and normal hearing with or without correction. Ability to move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. periodically. Must be able to perform tasks requiring repetitive hand and wrist motions.
