Job Description
Job Title: ESL Instructor (ShortTerm Exchange Program)
Dates: Sunday July 6 Tuesday July 8 2025
Hours: 2 hours of instruction per day (morning sessions)
Location: South Hadley MA
World learning is seeking two experienced ESL instructors to provide engaging studentcentered English instruction to a group of 14 to 17yearold students from Mexico participating in a shortterm cultural exchange program Jvenes en Accin (Youth in Action).
Responsibilities:
Teach daily 2hour inperson ESL classes over three consecutive mornings
Lead a class of approximately 15 students (one instructor per class)
With support from the World Learning team design and deliver interactive lessons that:
Build students confidence in conversational English
Explore aspects of U.S. culture
Prepare students to engage with others during their visit
Support discussion of their communitycentered projects
Student Profile:
Age: 1417
English level: Upper intermediate or higher
Visiting from Mexico as part of an educational exchange program
Required Qualifications:
- BA in Education; Certificate or MA in TESOL Education preferred
- Minimum five years of classroom teaching experience
- Nativelevel English language fluency or C2 level in the CERF required. Excellent writing skills required.
- Knowledge and experience with communicative language teaching methodology; ELT resource materials; American history and culture; use of technology to support the learning purposes
- Crosscultural teaching skills strong leadership effective communication (oral and written) skills and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of basic MS Office applications such as Word Excel and MS of basic Google Drive applications such as Docs Sheets Forms Classroom.
- Ability to take initiative be creative flexible and work independently and with a team.
