Job Overview
The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at the resort. Baristas are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times Baristas are expected to be attentive to our guests needs and provide them with a welcoming comfortable and elevated dining experience.
General Responsibilities
Perform preparation tasks as the business requires such as: restocking cleaning and organizing polishing glassware etc.
Remain informed of current menu items and options updates contents of specials and regular menu items and items the restaurant has 86d.
Assist servers in fulfilling Host responsibilities as needed including seating guests presenting menus booking reservations taking togo orders etc.
Maintain a proper dining experience by primarily making exceptional and consistent beverages and providing assistance in delivering food and drinks clearing courses (prebussing) assisting in food and drink selection auditing drink presentation and verifying accuracy of orders placed and received.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the restaurants drink selections standards for all drinks preparation of hot and cold drinks such as coffee tea artisan and specialty beverages and provision of proper barista service.
Maintain and uphold Health Code regulations and our House Policies by demonstrating an understanding of those policies and applying them in daily practices including but not limited to:
o Clean glasses utensils and coffee bar equipment
o Regularly sanitizing and maintaining cleanliness of coffee bar areas
o Properly store and secure ingredients daily
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist in organizing spaces and making the manager aware of items that need to be ordered.
Stay up to date on knowledge of coffee and tea and specialty drink selections and communicating recommended menu changes to your supervisor.
Obtain revenues issue receipts accept payments return change handle cash and provide proper paperwork and reports at the end of each shift.
Perform cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
Fill in for absent staff and assist with special events as the business requires.
Extend warm and welcoming greetings to all guests of the Resort.
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
Understands and can communicate products and services available at the resort.
Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the Running Y Properties Employee Handbook.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills & Experience:
Basic barista skills and 6 months of previous barista experience required.
Excellent oral communication skills required.
Positive interpersonal skills required.
Must speak English fluently and be able to write basic English.
Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
Ability to read recipes out of a recipe book and mix them accordingly.
Basic math skills.
License/Qualifications:
Food Handlers Card
OLCC Certification preferred
Valid Oregon Drivers License

This position does represent the company in handling complaints arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances. As a Barista you will be expected to work with guests and visitors to ensure satisfaction and will have to take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges and involve a supervisor only when previous methods have been unsuccessful.
