The University of Chicagos Department of Surgery Section of Transplant Surgery is searching for fulltime faculty members at any rank. These positions are oriented toward multiorgan practice with primary focus on liver transplantation. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.
The Transplant Institute has nationally recognized research and education programs that build on collaborations throughout the University and is active in clinical operations and quality improvement in the Medical Center.
Prior to the start of employment qualified applicants must: 1 have a medical doctorate or equivalent 2 hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and 3 be Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery or the foreign equivalent.
We especially welcome applicants who have completed an ASTS fellowship or equivalent and have at least five years of practice as faculty at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. Additionally we welcome applicants with strong translational research backgrounds and high potential to achieve independent funding. Experience in living and deceased donor liver transplantation organ perfusion and other surgical and transplant procedures preferred.
