Job Description

Safety Training Coordinator

We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Safety Training Coordinator to oversee and implement OSHA safety training programs for field technicians contractors and employees. This role will primarily focus on safety and compliance training while also supporting additional operational tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in FTTH (Fiber to the Home).

The Safety Training Coordinator will play a critical role in certifying technicians and contractors in essential safety practices including ladder safety bucket trucks and confined space entry. The position will require close collaboration with the fleet manager and other departments to ensure that all locations meet safety requirements. Additionally the coordinator will track safety performance and ensure continuous improvement across teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Certify technicians and contractors on safety protocols such as ladder safety bucket truck operations and confined space entry.
  • Develop update and maintain safety training materials and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards across all depots and offices.
  • Follow up with field technicians to ensure adherence to safety practices.
  • Administer and evaluate training effectiveness including tracking posttraining performance and incident reduction.
  • Perform regular safety evaluations and audits at various depots and offices.
  • Assist with other operational tasks such as working on various responsibilities alongside the team.
  • Travel to different locations for training safety assessments and to support team operations as needed.
  • Provide training on safety topics ensuring all participants are adequately certified in necessary safety practices.
  • Set and track goals for safety training and compliance on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities certifications and performance evaluations using a Learning Management System.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to revise and improve existing training content based on industry changes or internal feedback.
  • Participate in team meetings committees or task forces as needed.
  • Provide feedback to both learners and leadership teams to ensure that training efforts translate into improved onthejob performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Achieve quarterly goals for the number of technicians trained and safety compliance across depots.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs based on posttraining performance and safety incident reductions.
  • Improve safety training compliance and adherence across all teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to deliver complex training programs including safety technical skills and operational procedures.
  • At least 1 year of experience in FTTH.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling presenting reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to travel 3 days per week with occasional overnight stays.
  • Previous experience in training employees or contractors in safety procedures ideally in the telecom or FTTH industry is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with safety audits and compliance evaluations is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with training is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift and transport training equipment and set up classrooms.
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day) during training sessions.
