Job Description

The Division of Neonatology Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington/Seattle Childrens Hospital is seeking a fulltime neonatology provider to join our faculty.

The candidate will be a fulltime faculty member at the Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor level without tenure by reason of funding (WOT) on the ClinicianScholar track commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $18618 $27927 per month $223416 $335124 annually) Associate Professors $21793 $32689 per month $261516 $392268 annually) Professors $24947 $37420 per month $299364 $449040 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Childrens University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

This is an exceptional opportunity for a neonatologist who wishes to spend time in clinical care education and to participate in scholarship at an outstanding academic center as all University of Washington faculty on the Clinician Scholar track engage in service teaching and research. Our Division has three primary areas of research focus: bench to bedside neonatal neuroprotection/neuroscience simulation as an educational and clinical competency tool and global neonatalperinatal health. We also have an outstanding ethics program at the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics.

The Division of Neonatology has an outstanding fellowship training program robust clinical/translational and basic research and provides clinical care at two academic level IV NICUs and several regional level III NICUs. Our mission is to improve the outcome of pregnancy by advancing neonatal scholarship educating the next generation of neonatal caregivers and by providing outstanding evidence based neonatal clinical care. All our faculty contribute to this mission.

This position requires an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Must be Board certified or board eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Neonatology and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
