Job Description
Job Title: Medical Technologist Microbiology (Evening Shift)
Location: Raleigh NC
Department: Pathology Microbiology
Shift: Evening Shift Four 10hour shifts per week Some weekends (rotating)
Employment Type: Full Time
Compensation:$28$35/hour
SignOn Bonus or Relocation Incentive: Available for eligible candidates
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join our Microbiology team. This role is critical to delivering accurate timely and highquality laboratory results that support patient care and clinical decisionmaking. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in microbiology and a passion for collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and specialized microbiological testing including culture setup organism identification antimicrobial susceptibility testing and molecular methods.
Utilize appropriate laboratory instrumentation and software to evaluate and report patient results with considerable independent judgment.
Perform and evaluate quality control procedures ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Assist in development validation and implementation of new procedures tests and instrumentation.
May oversee laboratory projects or functions including performance improvement safety quality control regulatory compliance and staff development.
Serve as a resource and trainer for new employees and/or students and less experienced team members.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as CAP CLIA OSHA and applicable accrediting organizations.
Participate in shifttoshift communication and foster a collaborative and teamoriented lab environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required OR
Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required and a Bachelors Degree in a related field required with certification/licensure obtained within 6 months of hire OR
Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with preferred experience.
Licensure:
Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory performing moderate to high complexity testing preferred.
