In this role you will work with the Head of Vaccines in delivering the strategic medical plan and work in partnership with them to deliver operational excellence of the UK and Ireland (UKI) medical affairs team. You will contribute to the development and implementation of our strategic planning for the UK by providing medical insight and applying expert knowledge about the pipeline product and/or disease area. You will also identifydevelopand maintain credible relationships with healthcare professionals providers and academic centres and advocate cross functional partnership across the business in the delivery of company and team objectives. You will maintain integrity and ethical standards for the organisation always acting by example and function in a nonpromotional capacity for 100 of the time spent in role.
The Role Purpose
Be the medical expert and represents the Medical Department to provide fair balanced nonpromotional and unbiased medical and scientific assistance in relation to specific requests from healthcare professionals (HCPs) for further information on our product portfolio clinical development program or disease area(s) of interest.
Identifydevelopand maintain professional and credible relationships with the health care community especially Scientific experts and academic centres in the relevant disease area(s) and in partnership with relevant internal functions deliver improved patient outcomes in a given disease area.
Participate in the development of the Medical Affairs Plans (MAPs) and implement tactics identified in the MAP that align with the Companys therapeutic areas of interest.
Work cross functionally and undertake the delivery of specific (or assist the delivery of) projects in the advice seeking activities medical education initiatives.
In partnership with colleagues facilitate the delivery of data generation activities (phase I III) including the identification of suitable research projects research centresinvestigatorsand innovative methods to generate data.
Ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted in compliance with applicable localglobaland national laws regulations guidelines codes of conduct (including but not limited to the ABPI Code of Practice) company policies and accepted standards of best practice.
What We Are Looking For:
You would have a strong scientific background in medical or biological science a GMC registered doctor or aGPhCregistered pharmacist. You will bebeselfassured in your communication and social skills with excellent strategic planning and organisational skills. You will be able to prioritise work effectively; balancing both long and shortterm tasks and be able to demonstrate previous excellent cross functional working and have a good working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Pharmacovigilance laws and regulations and the ABPI code of conduct.
The defining skills therefore will be welldeveloped communications skills combined with the ability to strategically plan critically appraise progress and work towards implementing change with external and internal stakeholders to bring about impactful objectives.
