You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe purpose of this position is to deliver comprehensive athletic training services under the guidance of the Associate Athletic Director for StudentAthlete Health and Wellness. Working independently this role provides exceptional medical care to both studentathletes and visiting athletic teams focusing on the care prevention and rehabilitation of injuries with a commitment to inclusivity respecting all individuals regardless of race creed color national origin sexual orientation or gender. Emphasis is placed on injury prevention through methods such as taping use of protective equipment and flexibility training. Additionally this position cultivates a professional clinical environment that actively supports Long Beach State students pursuing careers in athletic training. The role includes assisting with program development initiatives providing mentorship and ensuring continuity of leadership and operational standards particularly when the Head Athletic Trainer is unavailable.
MS Office and injury tracking software. Knowledge of physical therapy modalities and treatment protocols to provide a standardized care for the studentathlete.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and nondiscrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.
A bachelors degree in athletic training physical education kinesiology or a related field is required. A masters degree in athletic training or a related field preferred and two years of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer in a high school or college environment is required.
Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4584 $8864 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health vision dental) tuition fee waiver generous vacation and sick leave and 14 paid holidays each year.
Fulltime temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
