Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford Proving Grounds in Milford MI three times per week at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Body & Passive Safety Controls & System Test Team is looking for a Body Controls System Test Engineer to join our organization! Our area is rapidly growing and is being transformed due to the adoption of software defined architecture. In Body electronics system test space we validate different customer facing features in functional areas like Digital key Occupant comfort Occupant protection etc. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in future technologies GM is introducing in Body Controls space.

What Youll Do

  • Lead Body Controls feature system and solution testing (manual and automated).
  • Create manage and complete Body electronics software feature/system/solution validation plans (Behavior Test specification etc.
  • Develop test methodologies to support new technology launch.
  • Lead test automation development and for relevant body controls products.
  • Collect data using advanced test equipment.
  • Analyze review results and document failures via PRTS Jira etc.
  • Author validation reports (CG190 etc.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (PI planning DSU etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead system test issue resolution initiatives
  • Lead best practices and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support regulatory and compliance relevant activities for body electronics software features.
  • Support program team reviews and demos.
  • Maintain communication with crossfunctional stakeholders.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

    • 3 years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in Engineering.
    • Bachelors degree in electrical/computer/software engineering or Computer Science
    • Experience in programming/scripting (Python etc.
    • Experience with Test automation framework (Autobot Autoval etc.
    • Valid US Driver License

    What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

    • Masters degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or Computer Science
    • Experience with vehicle and bench validation at component or subsystem level
    • Experience with data logging tools (Vehicle Spy CANALYZER Tools etc.
    • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) process and familiarity with Gherkin.
    • Experience with GitHub Jenkins GitHub Actions Jira and other configuration management version control and code quality tools.
    • Experience with virtual testing (CoSIM/GMSIM).
    • Working knowledge of embedded software development using C/Matlab/Simulink and associated tools (Jira DOORS Rhapsody GIT etc.
    • Quick to learn ambitious and willing to work handson with GMs vehicles and benches.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
    • Selfmotivated with the ability to work with minimal direction.
