Work location will be onsite at the Raytheon Tucson office.
What You Will Do
- You will design integration and test of mechanicalfocused hardware using computeraided design mechanical analyses and consistent coordination and communication across engineering teams to ensure successful hardware performance usually demonstrated through flight tests.
- You may also include leading small teams in the completion of above tasks.
- You will work across engineering disciplines to propose design develop integrate and test hardware within the Advanced Airframes mechanical design department
- Contribute to one or more of our contractfunded and independent research efforts each of which is in a different phase of development (proposal design and integration/test).
- You are generally assigned to one effort at a time but may work multiple efforts over the course of several years
- Communicate across disciplines working with engineering team members and suppliers to analyze model and document the design technical data package (TDP) and its capabilities and compliance to requirements
- Work under limited supervision and act as the responsible engineer often in a project management role over entire subsystems within an effort. This often requires the ability to direct delegate and review the work of other engineers.
- Coach and review work of early career professionals.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelors in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
- 5 years experience in mechanical design or development and/or test preferably of defenserelated components or systems
- Experience with CAD (Computer aided Drafting) design tools
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Science Math or other Engineering disciplines
- 8 years of experience in mechanical design development and/or test preferably of defenserelated components or systems
- DoD Secret or TopSecret Clearance
- Computeraided Design (CAD) experience in Creo Parametric and Windchill
- Experience with thermal and structural analyses or with analysts to specify requirements and design to environments
- Demonstrated collaboration with crossdisciplined teams using trust respect and innovation to drive results towards a shared vision
- Experience with effective communication (written and verbal) during collaboration with others to document design actions and results to perform trade studies and to communicate with program management and customers through presentations and reports
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) for technical analysis data sorting/plotting and technical documentation
- Experience in airframe development electronics packaging mechanisms for missiles or similar applications
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) basic tolerance analyses and drawing practices and interpretation for mechanical hardware
- Ability to work autonomously with limited oversight

- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 82000 USD 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
