Umpire - Seasonal

The City of Independence Parks & Recreation Department is committed to excellence in programming facilities and service while improving the quality of life within our community and looking for umpires for the 2025 season.

Days Hours & Additional Employment Details:

An umpire is a seasonal position from May 2025 through July 2025. Umpires will be required to varying hours on evenings and weekends based on training and game schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check work schedule regularly and arrive on time for all scheduled games
• Keep a record of all games worked
• Interact with players and coaches as needed to perform this role
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this seasonal job the employee is regularly required to see speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and be able to lift up to 2025 lbs when necessary. Employee must be capable of working in both an indoor and outdoor environment under standard Ohio weather conditions.
