The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees visitors and assets. This position involves monitoring premises conducting regular patrols responding to security incidents and enforcing security protocols. The Security Officer serves as a visible deterrent to criminal activity provides assistance to individuals on the premises and ensures the safety of people and property.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas including both interior and exterior locations to monitor for any unusual or suspicious activity.
- Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) and report any abnormalities or incidents observed during the monitoring process.
- Ensure that all entrances and exits are secured including doors windows and gates.
- Enforce access control procedures ensuring that only authorized personnel or visitors are allowed access to restricted areas.
- Check IDs badges or credentials of individuals entering the premises verifying that they are authorized to be on site.
- Respond promptly to security incidents alarms or disturbances including medical emergencies fire alarms or unauthorized activities.
- Enforce company policies safety regulations and security procedures including monitoring for violations of facility rules smoking or parking restrictions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous security law enforcement or military experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with security technology (e.g. CCTV alarm systems access control) is preferred.
