Job Description
Turner Industries Group is looking for experienced Structural Fitter for shop positions in Decatur AL. The ideal candidate will have industrial maintenance experience as well as industrial pipefitting experience.
- 40 Hours; Overtime as needed
- Must be able to pass preemployment drug test
- Per diem and relocation are not available for this position
- Candidates must be able to pass craft test
Responsibilities:
- Read Blueprints section and plan drawings and weld symbols;
- Must be able to read and derive measurements dimensions and quantity of material needed to fabricate a structure;
- Fabricate assemble and install structural steel products such as beams braces pipes and plates for structural fabrication of platforms pipe racks staircases handrails and MISC pipe supports.
- Operate misc shop equipment
Qualification Standards:
- One 1 to four 4 years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
- Written preemployment qualification test
- Postoffer drug/alcohol screen
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (long sleeves steel toe boots etc.
Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders scaffolds structures etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders scaffolds structures etc.; reaching in all directions handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level waist level and/or overhead; carrying objects tools equipment etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction
