A lateral Telecommunicator II (Dispatcher911 will possess at least one year of full time qualified dispatching experience in the discipline of police fire or emergency medical dispatching and must have certification from Oregon DPSST or certification in another state with reciprocity. To qualify as a lateral Dispatcher experience must be with a municipal government county or state agency.
Licensing Requirements:
Law Enforcement Data System Certificate within 60 days of appointment
First Aid/CPR Certificate within one year of appointment
Basic Telecommunications Certificate within one year of appointment
Emergency Medical Dispatch Certificate within one year of appointment
Certification of 40 words per minute with a minimum 95 accuracy keyboarding skills

Required materials to be turned in for this recruitment are:

4. Typing Test indicating at least 40 words per minute with a 95 accuracy in keyboarding skills. A typing test can be completed online temporary employment agency or at a Worksource Employment Department Center. Typing accruacy is subject to verification.
The ranking and selection of applicants to proceed in the process includes: experience and knowledge education responses to supplemental questionnaire submission of required materials and meeting minimum qualifications and special qualifications of the position. The initial process may include oral interviews and skills testing. Final selection will require a background investigation including a criminal history review and depending on the position a psychological screening physical functional and/or drug screening.
