    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    The Child Nutrition Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation offood service equipment.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    High School Graduate or GED
    Class B license preferred
    Certified to handle refrigerant
    Knowledgeable in refrigeration systems
    Knowledgeable in equipment repair
    Minimum three 3 years experience with reputable company
    Able to read blueprints and schematics
    Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and be insurable
    Lift 30 pounds continuously andoccasionally up to 75 pounds
    Capable of working well with others
    Must pass alcohol and drug test

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    Responsible for the maintenance and operation of child nutrition refrigerationequipment.
    Responsible for reporting any deviation from normal operation of the equipment to the Directorof Food Service.
    Responsible for implementing a preventive maintenance program for the Child NutritionDepartment.
    Responsible for ordering and receiving equipment parts.
    Responsible for parts inventory.
    Responsible to keep logs of refrigerant used.
    Reports to the Director of Food Service any chemicals or materials needed for the operation ofall refrigeration equipment.
    Responsible to successfully complete all work orders and submit them to the office.
    Work with district maintenance department on some equipment.
    Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    EQUIPMENT USED:
    District vehicles Freon reclaimer soldering torch twoway radio hand tools electric handtools large and small kitchen equipment to include but not limited to: milk boxes walkinfreezers and coolers passthru coolers and warmers

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    Frequent district travel heavy lifting and carrying climbing high places working inside andoutside in extreme weather conditions strenuous standing walking and bending working on aladder working on slippery or uneven surfaces exposure to electrical and chemical hazardsmaintain emotional control under stress
