Midas Hospitality is seeking an experienced Line Cook for the Hotel Canandaigua located in Canandaigua NY. This person will prepare season and cook food for consumption in the hotel dining establishments.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Reviews menu and reviews forecasting sheets to estimate food requirements and procures food from
storage. - Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens broilers grills roasters and steam kettles.
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare soups salads gravies desserts sauces
and casseroles. - Bakes roasts broils and steams meats fish vegetables and other foods.
- Adjusts seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking.
- Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting smelling and piercing with fork to determine doneness.
- Washes peels cuts and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
- Cuts trims and bones meat prior to cooking.
- Keeps cooks line wellstocked with food plates and utensils.
- Keeps the kitchen as clean as possible at all times. Area should be completely clean at the end of each
shift. - Ensures proper sanitation procedures are being observed at all times.
- Ensures that food for meetings and functions are ready prior to serving times.
- Completion of all opening running (during service time) and closing side work assigned each shift.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a cook is required. Experience as a cook in a hotel setting is preferred.
