At Syracuse Northeast Community Center we engage grow and connect neighbors supporting them in moving from emergency to selfreliance health and wellbeing.
The Supported Employment Specialist works within the Supported Employment Program to support individuals through a comprehensive career development program that includes assessment advisement training development and career mapping.
Specialists are selfstarters performing community outreach working collaboratively with the Supported Employment team to develop new participants and perform sustained casemanagement engaging participants with jobs and career development.

NYS required PTO for 90 days; 150 hours PTO annually (prorated) after 90 days
SNCC contributes 4 and up to 1 match to 401(k) from date of hire vesting after 1 year of employment
Coach individuals across diverse learning styles to connect with careers
Work with job search engines produce resumes and teach soft skills
Perform outreach to individuals and engage employers
Collaborate with the team to reach program objectives
Develop knowledge of employment trends job search strategies resume writing interviewing and soft skills
Track program data and case notes within Salesforce and County databases
No supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

An outgoing personality and ability to interact well with others is a must
Syracuse city resident with strong community connections preferred
Relevant education and experience preferred
Excellent verbal writing listening and observational skills required
Multilingual multicultural abilities preferred
Must be collaborative able to prioritize activities and manage time efficiently
Must demonstrate a professional welcoming compassionate demeanor
Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new systems required
Valid and clean NYS drivers license
Able to pass criminal and DMV check upon hire
Regular use of laptop computer copier phone MS Office Salesforce Unite Us and other software
Ability to travel throughout service area occasional exposure to outside weather
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and to attend meetings
