Job Description

SPED TeacherOpenings

The ideal candidate will partner closely with general education teachers and support staff to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with diverse learning needs. They will play a key role in ensuring that each student has access to the resources and support required to succeed academically and socially within the middle school environment.

In this role you will be responsible for tracking and evaluating student progress continuously adapting instructional methods to meet each learner s unique needs. You will modify and customize the general education curriculum to accommodate the diverse abilities and learning styles within your classroom. Effective behavior management strategies aligned with school policies and individualized behavior plans will be essential to maintaining a positive learning environment. Instruction will be delivered through targeted small group sessions and oneonone teaching ensuring that lessons are closely aligned with each student s specific objectives. You will also design implement and regularly review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address the diverse requirements of students with special needs. Creating a wellorganized supportive classroom environment that prioritizes safety active learning and student engagement is a key aspect of the position. Additionally collaboration with general education teachers support staff and school leadership is vital to fostering an inclusive educational setting that promotes both academic achievement and social development.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a current Illinois Special Education teaching license and show proficiency in modifying instruction to effectively support a wide range of learners. A bachelors degree in Special Education or a closely related field is required while a master s degree is strongly preferred. Ideal applicants will have solid expertise in creating executing and maintaining compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) along with a thorough knowledge of state and federal special education laws and guidelines.
