Job Description

Internal Job Title: System Architect

Job Type: Permanent Fulltime

Job Location: Continental USA (must be based within)

Work Model: Remote

Position Summary

As a System Architect in our North American Service Delivery group you will be responsible for the highlevel design and implementation of complex computer systems and networks. This role involves analyzing system requirements ensuring systems are secure efficient and scalable and providing technical leadership throughout the system development lifecycle.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

System Design

  • Develop and document comprehensive system architectures including hardware software and network components ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.

Requirement Analysis 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders including business analysts project managers and endusers to gather and analyze system requirements translating them into technical specifications.

Integration 

  • Ensure seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure identifying and resolving any compatibility issues.

Security

  • Implement robust security measures to protect data and systems from threats including encryption firewalls and access controls.

Performance Monitoring 

  • Continuously monitor system performance identifying and addressing bottlenecks and optimizing system efficiency.

Documentation 

  • Maintain detailed documentation of system architecture configurations and changes ensuring accuracy and accessibility for future reference.

Technical Leadership 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.

 


Qualifications :

Education 

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field; a Masters degree is preferred.

Certifications 

  • Open Group Certified Architect Certified System Architect (CSA) Azure Solutions Architect Expert AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or similar certification(s) are an asset.

Knowledge 

  • System architecture design principles methodologies frameworks and best practices; Network protocols configurations and security; Cybersecurity principles practices and tools; Project management fundamentals.

Experience

  • 710 years of experience in system architecture or related roles with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex systems.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills excellent communication and teamwork abilities and the ability to convey technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.

Competencies

  • Ability to work under pressure attention to detail adaptability and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.

  • Hardware: HP SuperMicro
  • Operating System: Windows (Server (Core) 2019 Linux (CentOS Redhat)
  • Networking: OSI Layers 17 (Fortigate switches routers DHCP TCP/IP DNS)
  • Security: Encryption (AES RSA) access control (LDAP AD)
  • Storage: NAS (FreeNAS) SAN 3PAR EqualLogic Thinksystem TrueNAS)
  • Scripting and Automation: Ansible Terraform Puppet Helm
  • Tools: UML Visio Git
  • Cloud Computing: AWS Azure
  • Containerization/Orchestration: OCI Containers (Podman/Docker) Kubernetes

Mandatory Requirements

  • Languages: Fluency in English (reading writing speaking).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Travel: Ability to travel internationally (passport required) approx. 610 weeks/year.
  • Legal Status: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America
