Wilkes University invites applicants for a fulltime 12month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy with a specialization in advanced community pharmacy. This is a tenuretrack position and is fully funded by Wilkes University. The successful candidate will maintain a clinical practice site at Weis Markets Pharmacy in Hazleton PA. Weis Pharmacy in Hazleton serves a diverse community with medication therapy management immunizations and patient counseling. The site offers opportunities for clinical and public health initiatives. Through Weis the candidate will develop and implement pharmacistbased direct patient care activities including but not limited to participation in the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Care Network (PPCN) pointofcare testing diabetes prevention and education services medication therapy management and vaccination programs while engaging in services as a recognized provider under Pennsylvania Medicaid.
The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy has a dynamic comprehensive and innovative approach to pharmacy education. Our mission is to develop pharmacists who will provide high quality health care and make meaningful contributions to the science and practice of pharmacy. In addition to experiential activities the successful candidate will participate in didactic teaching provide service to the profession and University serve as a student advisor and engage in meaningful scholarship. Didactic teaching can include both small and large classes as well as professional skillsbased labs. Excellence in teaching is the primary criteria for tenure and promotion. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
