Job Description
Amazons Elastic Container Registry (Amazon ECR) is seeking out Software Engineering Leaders to help us build our container registry! ECR is at the heart of most containerized applications and workflows that run on AWS thus it needs to be fast scalable and secure.
As more and more companies switch to containers to improve their speed of delivery they look to ECR for easytouse tools and we continue to grow the ecosystem of SDLC tools and security features that our customers use on a dailybasis. We work on exciting technical problems such as how to dramatically reduce the time it takes to launch a container within looking for someone who enjoys motivating and growing people. Executing through your team is the most important part of this ideal candidate understands software development. Youve kept your technical skills current to the point where you can help your team identify and reduce risks in projects. You regularly take part in troubleshooting exercises and drive technical postmortem discussions to identify the root cause of complex issues. AWS operates largescale mission critical workloads so you must be comfortable taking responsibility for the operational excellence of your service.

7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
8 years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
