Job Description

Job Title: High School Art Teacher

Department: High School

Reports To:Michelle Sorter Principal

Summary:

The High School Art Teacher is responsible for teaching art to students in grades 912. The ideal candidate will be passionate about art and have a strong understanding of art education. The High School Art Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans assessing student learning and creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess student learning through a variety of methods including quizzes tests and projects
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity
  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop and implement crosscurricular projects
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay uptodate on the latest art education methods
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Communicate with parents about student progress

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in art education or a related field
  • Teaching license in Oklahoma
  • Strong understanding of art education
  • Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans
  • Ability to assess student learning
  • Ability to work effectively with parents and other teachers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
