Job Description
Job Title: High School Art Teacher
Department: High School
Reports To:Michelle Sorter Principal
Summary:
The High School Art Teacher is responsible for teaching art to students in grades 912. The ideal candidate will be passionate about art and have a strong understanding of art education. The High School Art Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans assessing student learning and creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods including quizzes tests and projects
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity
- Collaborate with other teachers to develop and implement crosscurricular projects
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay uptodate on the latest art education methods
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Communicate with parents about student progress
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in art education or a related field
- Teaching license in Oklahoma
- Strong understanding of art education
- Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans
- Ability to assess student learning
- Ability to work effectively with parents and other teachers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
