Job Description: Security Architect Azure Environment

Scope of the Job
We seek a skilled Security Architect specializing in Azure environments to join our team. The Security Architect will play a crucial role in designing implementing and managing security solutions across various Azure services. The candidate must be proactive able to work independently and collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams to enhance the security posture of our Azure infrastructure.

Essential Functions

• Design and implement security architectures for Azure environments.
• Provide recommendations to improve the security of identity management (Entra ID).
• Provide recommendations to improve the security of the Azure platform.
• Ability to speak effectively with clients and provide security recommendations based upon the cleint strategy business needs and use cases.
• Enhance the security of hosts including Azure AVD utilizing Intune.
• Secure Azure services such as Azure Key Vaults Storage Accounts network security groups and firewalls.
• Design implement and manage conditional access policies.
• Implement and maintain organizational standards utilizing Azure Policy.
• Secure Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and deployments.
• Deploy and manage the Defender Suite including Defender for Cloud Endpoint Office 365 Identity Cloud Apps and XDR.
• Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain security documentation including architecture diagrams configuration guides and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with development operations and compliance teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security team members.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Security Cybersecurity or a related field experience. A masters degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in security architecture with a focus on Azure environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure security services and tools including Azure Key Vaults Storage Accounts network security groups and firewalls.
• Experience with identity management solutions particularly Entra ID.
• Experience with DevOps practices and Terraform IaC.
• Proficiency in securing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Intune.
• Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
• Relevant certifications such as:

• AZ500 (Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate)
• SC200 (Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate)
• SC100 (Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect)
• CompTIA Security
• and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are highly desirable.

• Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell Terraform JSON Python) is a plus.
• Familiarity with compliance standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 NIST and GDPR.
• Technical Experience with each of the following Defender Security Suite services and technologies:

• Defender for Cloud
