The Procurement team in Maersk (IBS) is looking for a Middle mile Transport Procurement Analyst to drive our Logistics and Services (L&S) growth journey and will be responsible for managing the CAPEX & OPEX spend in India.

The FTL Transport Procurement analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement of Middle mile transportation services. This position involves assisting with the identification evaluation and onboarding of transport vendors negotiating rates and service agreements in compliance with Maersk vendor onboarding process ensuring efficient and costeffective FTL movements and maintaining strong relationships with carriers. The ideal candidate will be detailoriented possess strong communication and negotiation skills and have a basic understanding of the transportation industry in India. This role will require you to be a business partner to product heads and commercial teams in delivering optimized costs through cost effective compliant and quality procurement solutions. The role will be positioned in Gurgaon (India) reporting to the L&S Procurement Manager for IBS area.
It is necessary to have strong experience in strategic procurement of Middle mile transportation services. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with carriers negotiating rates optimizing transportation costs ensuring service quality and contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of the Middle mile Product. The candidate should possess a good understanding of the local Middle mile market dynamics strong understanding of supplier market situation should have good contacts in the supplier market strong negotiation and analytical skills ability to drive cost savings while maintaining service excellence and strong time management capabilities.
It is necessary to be able to work in a fast paced environment and able to professionally handle pressure situations. The individual we are looking for must be able to manage many stakeholders at different levels of seniority both within and outside the Maersk organization.
What this position involves
Vendor Identification and Sourcing:
Assist in identifying and researching potential Middle mile transport vendors in the local market and across India considering factors like reliability capacity pricing and compliance.
Maintain and update a database of approved Middle mile transport vendors.
Conduct prequalification process of new vendors gathering necessary documentation and information.
Ensuring that all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
Quotation and Negotiation:
Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) to potential carriers.
Analyze and compare received quotations identifying costsaving opportunities.
Ensure all negotiated rates and agreements are accurately documented as per the vendor onboarding process.
Operational Support:
Assist in the booking and scheduling of FTL shipments as required.
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g. CT Operations) and external carriers to ensure smooth functioning of transportation services.
Resolving transportationrelated queries and complaints from internal stakeholders and vendors.
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with FTL transport vendors.
Communicate effectively with vendors regarding operational requirements performance expectations and any issues that may arise.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of vendor information contracts rates and any other details as per company policy.
Assist in generating reports on transportation costs vendor performance and other relevant metrics.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the procurement systems.
Maintenance of necessary permits licenses insurance and any other documents as per the vendor onboarding process.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to identifying opportunities for process improvements in Middle mile transport procurement processes.
Stay updated on market trends and developments in the transportation industry in India.
Assist in evaluating new technologies and solutions that can enhance Middle mile transport procurement efficiency.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the L&S Procurement Manager.
Collaboration and Communication:
Strong negotiation and communication skills and strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
Collaborate with internal teams including operations sales and customer service for seamless transportation operations.
Communicate effectively with carriers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and provide updates.
Support the implementation of new processes systems and other transportation related technologies.
