Description and Functions
- Open Until FilledGENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provide Risk Management and safety services for youth and staff at the Wyoming Boys School an institution serving adjudicated male delinquent youth.The State of Wyomings total compensation package is excellent and includes:- Culture of public service and a commitment to work/life balance

Worland is situated within the Big Horn Basin along the Big Horn River in beautiful Northwestern Wyoming. Worland has easy access to the Big Horn Mountains to the west and the Wind River Mountains to the south including the Wind River Canyon.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.- Provides for the safety and security of students during awake hours.
- Monitors support and assists students and staff.
- Responds to all emergencies.
- Maintains logbook of facility activities
- Produces and/or reviews incident reports.
- Manages radio traffic regarding facility events and student movement.
- Greets guests in a manner that reflects a positive image and with excellent customer service.
- Frequently transports students to and from appointments and activities.
- Directs or assists in investigations involving risk management safety and welfare of students and staff.
- Conducts frequent observation of physical plant structures and perimeter areas.
- Assists with supervision of offground activities.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants with a High School diploma plus one year of work experience interacting with the public or youth.
KNOWLEDGE:- Skills and ability to assess grounds and buildings safety and risk factors.
- Skills and ability to interact with residents staff and the public respectfully and professionally.
- Skills and ability to deescalate youth.
- Skills and ability to safely demonstrate physical and nonphysical intervention during crises where residents are hostile aggressive outofcontrol and in danger of harming themselves others or property.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:High School DiplomaExperience:02 years of progressive work experience (typically in Youth Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Youth Services AideOREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:13 years of progressive work experience (typically in Youth Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Youth Services AideCertificates Licenses Registrations:NoneNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Complete all mandatory State of Wyoming and Wyoming Boys School training
- Remain awake and alert during the shift
NOTES:- FLSA: NonExempt
- All positions within the Department of Family Services will require a background information check including the taking of fingerprints which will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation the Department of Family Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
