Apprentice Teacher Pay: minimum $14.00 per hour with annual increases; $2750 per year for tuition books and fees.

Job Summary
The Apprentice Teacher role is designed for individuals currently enrolled in a Kansas State Board of Education (KSDE)approved teacher preparation program. This role allows you to work alongside certified teachers gain handson classroom experience and develop the professional skills needed for a successful teaching career.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Assist lead teachers in lesson delivery classroom preparation and student engagement.
- Student Interaction: Provide academic support to individuals and small groups; help maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Lesson Planning: Collaborate with teachers to design effective inclusive lesson plans.
- Assessment & Feedback: Help grade assignments and provide meaningful feedback to support student growth.
- Classroom Management: Support routines procedures and a positive learning climate.
- Professional Growth: Attend workshops coaching sessions and training as part of your development.
- Administrative Support: Assist with daily classroom tasks like attendance materials prep and organizing student portfolios.
- Communication: Relay important information to lead teachers and staff regarding student progress and classroom needs.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled (or actively planning to enroll) in a KSBEapproved Teacher Preparation Program at a Kansas college/university
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their academic journey
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn adapt and grow
- Patience empathy and a commitment to student success
Additional Details
- Work is performed under the direct supervision of licensed teachers
- Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods and lifting to 25 lbs.
