The College of Western Idahos Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT) program is looking for an adjunct faculty member. Adjunct faculty teach assigned courses in accordance with the Colleges established policies and guidelines and assist in student advising. Adjunct faculty are required to use the Blackboard learning platform for all assignments grading posting office hours making announcements etc. This position may require a work schedule that includes teaching courses that run MF during the day.
Instruct and contribute to the development of the SMT curriculum as assigned which may include courses in semiconductor manufacturing and process control. Instruction covers standard technologies used in the fabrication of microelectronic circuits on silicon wafers as well as processes involved in completing microelectronic circuit manufacturing following wafer fabrication.
Develop daily lesson plans and teaching aids using appropriate technologies
Motivate students to participate in all aspects of the educational process actively
Assess student outcomes and provide regular accurate and timely feedback to students
Maintain expertise in the subject area and implement improvements in curriculum design as needed
Convey through word and action the values expected by CWI
Perform other duties as assigned
3 years of industry experience acquired by fulltime successful employment in applicable field
Associate degree or higher in a semiconductor manufacturingrelated discipline
Comprehension and application of microelectronic circuit fabrication processes and equipment including exposure to techniques such as oxidation photolithography etching ion implantation planarization thin film deposition and metrology.
