Job Description Summary

The Director Data Visualization and Storytelling is a critical strategiccreative role in the Integrated Marketing Organization reporting to the Content Lab ED Creative Editorial Lead. This Director will lead the building of a robust marketing Data Viz capability that is inclusive of a strong framework learning curricula talent & resource capabilities and strategic brand datavisualization projects. The Director will also uplevel and guide creation of innovative highquality data storytelling across disease awareness and branded promotional content.

This position is based in East Hanover NJ and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Please note that this role would not provide relocation and only local candidates will be considered. This position will require 10 travel as defined by the business (domestic and/or international).



Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Building a Data Viz Capability:

  • Lead the strategy and in building a robust marketing Data Viz Framework in close collaboration with our Creative Excellence leads.
  • Standing up a replicable and scalable approach to innovative bestinclass data viz and infographics.
  • Build a curriculum bolstered by but not limited to the Content Rx guides and learning experiences for example information sessions office hours and marquis events reinforcing and defining how to go from good to great in data storytelling.

Creative Guidance Across Brands and Agency Partnership:

  • Partner with and mentor agency creative teams to deliver creative work that is innovative onstrategy and aligned with brand objectives.
  • Lend expertise in data visualization and visual storytelling to transform complex information into clear impactful and visually engaging content that delivers on behavioral strategies.
  • Direct and inform agency partners to uncover new angles in the data. Help define the direction for the team to interrogate interpret and identify meaningful insights from data.
  • Proactively explore and socialize new and innovative approaches for data storytelling including how to capture and distill clinical trial data into compelling visual stories and data viz templates that could be used across brands.

Leadership and Influence:

  • Champion and advocate for the work ensuring that our creative strategy remains a leadingedge differentiator for Novartis US.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within the Integrated Marketing (CXPO Marketing Operations) and across Novartis US (Patient Advocacy Medical Legal and Regulatory) to inform improve and safeguard our data viz capability.

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Design or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in creative strategy content development advertising or marketing with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Proven expertise in data visualization and visual storytelling with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful customerfocused materials.
  • Experience leading creative development for global or multimarket campaigns with a track record of influencing customer behavior.
  • Experience navigating a highly matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional ability to produce visually engaging impactful and innovative materials and a strategic vision in aligning creative strategies with broader business goals and customer needs.
  • Ability to lead through influence motivate teams and drive crossfunctional collaboration and the experience to manage external partners holding them accountable to deliver exceptional work.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $185500 and $344500/year; however while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to geographical location experience level knowledge skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a signon bonus restricted stock units and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired employee will be in an atwill position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
