Purchasing Agent II

We seek a positive and talented individual to join our team. This position will be responsible to obtain pricing through various procurement processes for a variety of commodities and services; research the marketplace to identify new vendors and stay updated on pricing trends. The individual may advise on contract terms and conditions as well as policies and procedures. They will also review and sign certain contracts related to purchases.

Prepare bid sourcing events evaluate bid proposals and issue purchase orders.
Review and sign purchase related documents and contracts.
Confer with University departments regarding requirements specifications and deliveries.
Advise departments on purchasing policies and procedures and provides vendor sources.
Review and research purchasing requests.
May involve direct contact with vendors/suppliers.
Analyze review and approve contracts
May train and guide technical/clerical support staff.
Comply with and maintain knowledge of rules legislations regulations standards and best practices.
Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field plus two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.

• • Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize multitask and problem solve. Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to select the best solution and solve problems.
