Job Description
Amazon Shopping Videos (ASV) is a new strategic program in Advertisement that leverages the potential of video to help millions of customers find product inspiration through videos. ASV is seeking an exceptionally skilled and enthusiastic Applied Scientist to join the Amazon Live team.
Our mission is to provide a delightful video experience to Amazons customers by pushing the envelope in Computer Vision image processing and multimodal LLM.
Key job responsibilities
You will work collaborate closely with product managers and work alongside with other scientists to develop novel approaches algorithms and modeling techniques to improve live streaming experience for our customers and influencers. You will conduct research in computer vision and natural language processing to develop new models and algorithms to solve for content personalization image and video understanding and recommendation systems. You will collaborate closely with the engineering teams to integrate the models into the production systems.

ASVs mission is to help millions of customers find product inspiration learn more about products they are interested in and interact with creators and their communities every day across the globe. We enable customers to find relevant content and explore our vast library of productfocused videos on our home experiences across desktop mobile and FireTV and throughout their shopping journey on Amazon. We are very much a startup within Amazon aiming to reinvent the way customers use video to shop and we are looking for motivated thoughtful selfstarters who can partner effectively across our multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation.
PhD or Masters degree and 6 years of applied research experience
3 years of building machine learning models for business application experience
Experience programming in Java C Python or related language
Experience with modeling tools such as R scikitlearn Spark MLLib MxNet Tensorflow numpy scipy etc.
6 years of building machine learning models for business application experience
Experience with building Computer Vision models for business applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
