BluePearl Pet Hospital is on the lookout for a talented and experienced Market Social Worker to join our team! This person will be responsible for supporting 7 Hospitals in the Seattle Market & Portland Markest!
Pay: $64166.00 $84504.00
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience
This position reports to the Health & Wellbeing Supervisor. The Veterinary Market Social Worker upholds best practices in the field provides leadership support and client service expertise to all team members.
As a Veterinary Market Social Worker you will:
Provides social work support to multiple hospitals.
Travels onsite for interactions across different locations.
Responsible for all duties related to VSW client care.
Meets with and ensures the Director of Health & Wellbeing or designated representative has insight into new and already developed programming.
Works directly with the Director of Health & Wellbeing or designated representative to ensure seamless transition and use of regional health and wellbeing initiatives to promote consistency of services being offered within the Health & Wellbeing team.
Develops and maintains updated resources for clients and staff.
Organizes and chairs Wellness Committee for staff initiatives.
Intervenes and offers short term support with staff: in crisis needing to process/debrief client encounters conflicts with coworkers experiencing compassion fatigue or other situations which may impair ability to work effectively.
Provides referral for outside counseling or EAP as needed.
Provides consultation to doctors and staff regarding difficult interactions with clients or staff for facilitation of the best method of communication.
Intervenes and assists DVMs when clients are demanding excessive consultation due to emotional needs.
Creates and/or organizes psychoeducational programs for staff including but not limited to SW program services Communication skills wellness and selfcare Stress management burnout and compassion fatigue and tools and information for suicide prevention.
Provides informal debriefing individually or in groups as needed.
Consults with Directors/Managers/Supervisors regarding wellness of staff to enhance overall hospital functioning.
Education and Experience
Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) is required.
Applicable State License required.
3 years of experience post MSW required.
Skills/Knowledge
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Able to provide services needed by clients and staff in an emotionally intense fastpaced setting.
Able to patiently mentor social work interns while delegating tasks and teaching skills.
