This position pays $10.25/hr.
Get to know the campus. Level 1
On the grounds crew you will steward the campus in a way that shows not only our community but all visitors the beauty of the campus on the mountain. This is a great opportunity to be mentored and encouraged in your labors of love for our home. Grounds is the smallest of the teams and scheduling is limited to day time hours with at least 2 hours shifts. You must be able to work outside for long periods of time. You will also need to take a test to operate golf carts and equipment.
Expected hours of work per week: 1015
Work Location & Hours: Campus Grounds and Athletic Fields 8am and 5pm MF
Qualifications for Position:
- Landscaping and general lawn maintenance experience.
- Knowledge in using mowers eaters rakes shovels etc.
- Enjoy working outside.
- Able to work independently; selfmotivated.
- Able to stoop and bend.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to work despite allergies to grass plants flowers pollen etc.
- Able to work outdoors.
- Able to distinguish between colors and have sufficient hearing to work safely and cooperatively
- Able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work with and assist the Campus Grounds staff in their daily duties.
- Consider the other staff faculty and residents we serve by practicing cleanliness and orderliness in all work areas.
- Work with Campus Grounds crew on special projects and tasks.
To maintain in good function and appearance all assigned areas bearing in mind that the work of your hands is done as an acceptable sacrifice to the Lord and therefore becoming a strong witness to your faith and consideration of all others on campus.
Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed
- Career & SelfDevelopment includes a practical application of a biblical worldview to the workplace and the development of related transferable skills. Departmentspecific development of an aptitude and familiarity in lawn care and equipment planning pruning etc.
