Nothings debut smartphone Phone 1 earned Time Magazines prestigious Best Inventions for Innovative Smartphone Design award. Through cuttingedge design and user interface innovation the Londonbased company is creating an alternative ecosystem of tech products for the young and creative.
In 2023 the company launched Phone 2 to wide acclaim from its community the media and design enthusiasts and in 2024 Nothing launched its CMF Phone 1 and Nothing Phone 2a) Series with both receiving an overwhelmingly positive reception.
To date Nothing has sold more than 7 million units worldwide across its product lines having released five audio products five smartphones and two smart wearables under the Nothing and CMF by Nothing brands. The company has amassed a cumulative revenue of $1 billion.
All products are developed in close collaboration with the Nothing Community which includes over 8000 private investors and are crafted with sustainability at the forefront.
Nothing is a UKbased privately held company with backing from GV (formerly Google Ventures) EQT Ventures C Ventures and other private investors including Tony Fadell (Principal at Future Shape & inventor of the iPod) Casey Neistat (YouTube personality and Cofounder of Beme) Kevin Lin (Cofounder of Twitch) and Steve Huffman (Cofounder and CEO of Reddit).

The Role:
At Nothing were not just creating productswere shaping the future of lifestyle. Were seeking a visionary Director of Software Product Design to lead our software design team in crafting delightful aweinspiring digital experiences that define the future.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Innovation
- Utilize your creative vision and expertise to define and drive cuttingedge design strategies. From a blank canvas to final implementation youll architect the nextgeneration OS experience.
- Pursue Excellence
- Optimize design processes and elevate design quality ensuring every detail embodies Nothings design philosophy.
- Cultivate Team Culture
- Foster a highly creative and efficient team environment empowering each member to shine under your leadership.
- Collaborate CrossFunctionally
- Work closely with product technology marketing and other departments to ensure design solutions seamlessly integrate technical and business objectives.
Requirements:
- Experience
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in software or digital product design including managing diverse design teams spread over complex geographies and projects
- Creative Vision and Strategy
- A passionate creative mind with strategic thinking capable of sustaining innovation in a constantly evolving market.
- Leadership and Portfolio
- Proven experience in design leadership roles backed by an impressive portfolio of projects.
- Trend Insight:
- Keen awareness of design trends and the ability to leverage them to drive brand growth.
- Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent communication and team management skills with the ability to inspire and develop team members.
- Industry Knowledge
- A deep understanding of consumer technology products is a strong plus.
