Job Duties
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginias Veterans. This singlelevel facility features 200 singleoccupancy rooms across four nursing units.
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for the 7:00am3:30pm shift and will include a shift every other weekend. The nurse is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care for our veteran residents.
Duties include:
Administer medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
Consult with physicians; receives records and implements orders and schedules appointments.
Document residents health changes via acute care nurses notes and shift change nursing reports.
Formulate plans of care for new residents and prepares all required reports and documentation.
Conduct daily rounds; observing and evaluating the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and taking necessary actions to ensure their health and wellbeing.
Maintain equipment supplies and materials necessary for nursing care; Consulting with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in Virginia.
Additional Considerations
Nursing experience in a longterm care or adult geriatric setting.
