GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


Wyomings State Parks Historic Sites and Trails Divisions OffRoad Vehicle (ORV) Program is authorized to hire up to 4 seasonal trail maintenance laborers for the summer of 2024. These workers will provide important summer season services for the State ORV Trails Program.

The major employment season is May through October 2025. However some positions may start earlier and end later in the season. The work will be statewide but based out of Lander.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

  • Drive to trail locations and use different types of ORV equipment to travel to project locations.
  • Assist in the maintenance and construction of over 625 miles of ORV trails and over 5500 miles of ORV enrolled roads.
  • Includes trail construction equipment operation while improving trail condition and longevity controlling erosion and adverse impacts to sensitive terrain and providing access to Wyomings public lands to ensure good user experiences for recreational enthusiasts.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of ORV trail equipment and tools.

Qualifications


PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:


**Must have a valid drivers license.
**Must be at least 18 years of age.


KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge and ability to safely operate all types of ORVs
  • Knowledge and experience in the safe operation of all types of bumper pull and gooseneck trailers including proper hookup backing and tiedown of many types of loads.
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Skill and experience in problemsolving and handling many priorities.
  • Knowledge and experience in juggling multiple priorities and working independently.
  • Knowledge of reading weather patterns.

Necessary Special Requirements


PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work outside in all weather conditions with minimal protection from the elements.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.


NOTES:

  • FLSA: NonExempt
  • Seasonal positions require irregular hours of work including weekends holidays and evenings.
