Early Intervention Specialist

$42114 $51870; commensurate with experience
The Early Intervention (EI) Specialist will provide regular home and/or community based educational services to children birth to three years who have developmental delays or disabilities and provide support for their families as outlined on the familys Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). The EI will work collaboratively with other professionals (e.g. service coordinators therapists interpreters etc. to support these children and their families by participating in IFSP meetings completing visits together; exchanging information about strategies for helping families achieve child and family goals; maintaining accurate and up to date documentation as required by the program and by the state funding agency and performing other related tasks or special projects as assigned. Note: This position is contingent upon continued upon continued Grant funding.
Bachelors degree or advanced degree in one of the following:
Early Childhood Special Education (preferred)
Early Childhood Education
Child Development/Family Studies
Elementary Education
Closely related field (early intervention deaf education or visual disabilities special education K12 communication disorders speech/language pathology) or a related field.
Related field means a degree in social work nursing psychology education administration or sociology.
One 1 year experience including practicum internship volunteer or work experience with young children and their families. If degree is in a related field a minimum of one 1 year documented experience working with children with disabilities 05 years of age and their families.
Valid TN Drivers license reliable transportation with vehicle insurance coverage required CPR prior to or within first month of hire.
One 1 year related work experience with young children with disabilities and their families; providing home visits to families with young children; conducting and interpreting early childhood assessments preferred.
Early Childhood Special Education preferred.
