Job Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.

GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) is the backbone that connects the global AWS network. It is dedicated to control the internet traffic that allows users to access their information and applications regardless of where they are in the world. GCNA is also responsible for building and designing a complex backbone network that allows internet traffic to flow efficiently between Data Centers and customers.

Key job responsibilities
Youll drive both hardware and software programs to meet the evergrowing customer demand.
Youll manage competing crossorganizational projects/programs on a global scale.
Youll interact crossteam Deployment Managers crossteam Technical Program Managers Engineers and Data Center Technicians and senior management.
Youll participate in Network Design engineering reviews.
You will run meetings create and maintain timelines and keep large diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles.
Youll work with engineers to develop detailed and creative solutions to complex problems while keeping a watchfuleye on timelines and costs.
Youll ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up.
Youll drive simplification efforts in engineering and project/program management and architectures to unblock innovation.
A day in the life
Technical Program Managers in the BERE organization have a wide range of responsibilities: we work with internal partners to develop and implement the next gen infrastructures along with the tooling ecosystems to support with these platforms driving efficiency and scalability through the automation of builds configuration deployment and the scaling of capacity. As our network is one of the largest in the world there is no blue print at our scale allowing our engineers to develop solutions to the complex challenges that we face daily. We encourage durable solutions that look around corners while taking into consideration our customer needs from a cost performance and reliability perspective. Our team develops tooling that provides the required visibility and control of traffic across the network while prioritizing the automatic mitigation of events to minimize the impact to our customers during events.
About the team
Within AWS Networking the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) organization is responsible for the design implementation and operations of a wide array of networking infrastructure that provide global connectivity between all AWS Regions and edge locations. We provide the massive scale required to support our AWS customers and internal services via a network that grows by 70 annually. In addition we have teams that are responsible for the design and operation of our global corporate office and data center network allowing tens of thousands of Amazonians to perform their daily tasks in support of our customers. We provide software tooling that allows the global AWS footprint to scale via new Region and edge location builds automated systems that control the flow of traffic across devices and are building our next generation network controllers to drive improved performance and efficiency across the networks that we operate.

7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
3 years of software development experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
