East Liverpool City Hospital is an awardwinning community hospital proudly serving residents of the tristate region since 1905. With 152 licensed beds and more than 500 employees the hospital averages 31000 Emergency Department visits annually. East Liverpools medical staff is comprised of more than 160 physicians with an additional 21 resident physicians completing their training in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency services general surgery medical stabilization for substance abuse behavioral health for adults over the age of 55 and remains the ONLY cardiac rehabilitation program in Columbiana County. Know Your Rights: Student Nurse Extern may only practice professional nursing under the supervision of a licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse. Supervision is defined as the physical presence in the practice area or unit where the extern is providing patient care. The extern is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process and that is within the scope of practice as determined by the state board of nursing and organizational policies and procedures. The extern is responsible and accountable for the care provided to his/her assigned patients and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. The extern will communicate changes in the patients clinical condition to the supervising licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse and the physician in regard to changes in the patients clinical condition including vital signs cardiac monitoring diagnostic results and other related symptomatology. He/she will respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment and document all relevant data in the electronic medical record.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE TRAINING
1. Student from an accredited nursing program
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS (AHA) preferred.
