Position Summary
As an integral part of Bow Valley Colleges Campus Services this Casual Logistics Service Worker position plays a vital background role throughout Bow Valley College. This position is expected to complete all tasks within the Logistics portfolio which includes General Service Labour and Shipping/Receiving
The Casual Logistics Service Worker role will be required to perform:
General Service
All general service requests which include but is not limited to furniture/equipment moves repairs and installations; Delivery of college material throughout all Bow Valley College campuses; The set up and tear down of event space public space and classrooms; Maintain and upkeep all furniture and equipment to the highest standard in Bow Valley Colleges campuses
When required provide timely relief to:
Receiving Responsible for the timely and efficient receiving of all products purchased by and delivered to Bow Valley College. The position will work closely with Campus Services Procurement Finance amongst others to expedite the supply chain cycle. Systematic completion of daily responsibilities and compliance to established policies will increase operational efficiency improve client satisfaction and reduce potential losses. This position will maintain detailed accurate and original audit records of all items purchased all items received and all discrepancies.
Shipping Services the daytoday processing of the Colleges centralized mail and shipping functions. In addition to processing all incoming/outgoing letter mail; this position will prepare and arrange for all outgoing items requiring courier or freight services.
This position will work closely with all Bow Valley College staff and partners to ensure timely delivery of all service requests as well as ensuring the safety of all Bow Valley College patrons during these tasks. Coordination and communication is key when providing the delivery and implementation of these tasks to ensure tasks are completed to the highest standard while providing the best possible customer service. This position contributes to the accomplishments of the Campus Services division by performing other duties and tasks as required and directed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics services
- Experience with moving furniture and event setup
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and efficiency
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Proficient in the safe use of hand tools
- General maintenance knowledge
- Valid Forklift License
- Current certifications in First Aid WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS WES or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.

This opening is a casual (AUPE) position intended to provide backup coverage; hours may vary from week to week. Please note all successful candidates will be required to provide copies of government issued identification and proof of educational qualifications upon hire and may be required to provide an enhanced police information check.
