Job Summary:
The Commercial Lending Specialist III provides professional courteous and efficient service to Wings Commercial Services members. The Specialist III is responsible for the administration of the commercial and participation loan origination process as well as the ongoing maintenance including regulatory and compliance matters pertaining to Business & Commercial members with minimal supervision from their leader. In addition the Specialist III will have a primary focus on participations commercial construction and complex CRE loans.
Essential Functions:
- Independently Initiates and manages the process of tracking progress toward commercial and participation loan closings;
- Facilitating regular meetings with Lenders to track progress using a department closing checklist;
- Ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in the established timeline escalating any issues with the lender;
- Coordinating communications with thirdparty vendors for necessary documentation which may include title companies environmental/appraisal management firms and legal counsel preparing loan documentation as well as operations teams from other financial institutions;
- Drafts and reviews internally created loan documents (when applicable).
- Opening deposit accounts and related services for Commercial & Business Members.
- Independently ensures that complete packages are in place for loans during and after closing including:
- Works independently with lender and participation manager to close loans and book to the core system successfully;
- Confirms that applicable ticklers and covenants are established for future monitoring;
- Verifying the work of other Specialists to ensure accuracy with booked loans;
- Assembling and electronically filing complete loan packages in a timely manner.
- Independently reviews loan documents needed for different types of transactions as well as providing valuable and insightful feedback to the lender;
- Independently onboards and closes purchased and sold participations with participations manager while assessing and recognizing highrisk situations that pertain to participations;
- Independently establishes tracking of construction draw documents reviews pay apps invoices and can balance constructions draws;
- Proactively and independently monitors the collection and receipt of due diligence items throughout the life of the commercial and participation loan portfolio independently including but not limited to:
- Covenant tracking for required financial documents
- Insurance coverage
- Recorded Mortgage/Assignment of Leases & Rents and Final Title Policies
- UCC Filings/Renewals/Terminations
- Ensuring that all regulations applicable to commercial loans and deposit accounts are followed with minimal guidance from leader including:
- HMDA for applicable loans secured by residential real estate and
- Compliance/regulations pertaining to commercial deposit accounts.
- Proactively monitors reports for the Commercial Services department to alert lenders of upcoming maturities or renewals past due payments and other actions potentially requiring involvement from others in the department;
- Takes on participated related reporting monitoring and balancing independently and assists other departments internal and other financial institutions. Looks for new report opportunities that would benefit the portfolio;
- Assists in the creation of new procedures for the department for both process and regulatory purpose;
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED is required; twoyear postsecondary degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in commercial loan operations or commercial servicing preferred
- 3 years of commercial participation and commercial construction servicing experience.
- Vast experience with participations construction and complex CRE Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and SBA lending.
- Expansive knowledge of and experience with business financials and can provide guidance to others when reviewing.
- Experience with Treasury Management and Commercial Deposit Account services and products offerings.
- Maintains current knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations as well as industry best practices including BSA AML Patriot Act CIP and OFAC regulations and guidelines.
- Proficient in the use of personal computer and software including Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Edge and Outlook as well as alternative web browsers.
- Proficient in multiple bank operating platforms and loan documentation software.

Pay Range:$30$38/hour plus 10 annual target bonus. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors including skill set experience location qualifications and other jobrelated reasons.
