SUBJECT: Coping InstructorREPORTS TO: Building PrincipalACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:This position is accountable for providing supervision and instruction to suspended students in an inschool suspension ACCOUNTABILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)1. Responsible for tutoring basic skills within the inschool suspension program.2. Responsible for interacting with professional staff (such as teachers counselors child study personnel) and parents in correcting the behavior which leads to the inschool suspension.3. Responsible for working in multiple subject areas on the secondary school level to assist students in their educational growth and development.4. Responsible for working with students to develop positive attitudes and motivations in attending school.5. Responsible for working with appropriate community agencies and institutions in assisting students in developing to their fullest potential.6. Responsible for working in a selfcontained educatio0nal environment.7. Responsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of race color sex age marital status religion national origin or handicap.8. Performance of other jobrelated duties as assigned to the inschool suspension QUALIFICATIONS:1. Massachusetts DESE Teachers Licensure2. SEI Endorsement3. Bachelors Degree4. Experience in a secondary school setting.5. Experience and background in relating to students and families in an urban setting.6. Possession of skills in curriculum development implementation and maintenance.7. Demonstrated abilities in working with community agencies and institutions (such as Juvenile Court Department of Social Services etc..8. Ability to work in multiple subject QUALIFICATIONS:1. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.2. Ability to speak Albanian Arabic Nepali Portuguese Spanish Vietnamese or an African Language.
