Job Description
Job Summary
Several Research Assistants (RA) are sought to support a research study on carceral conditions and culture.
This position works on an asneeded basis.
Essential Functions
- Assisting in management of study records both paper and electronic.
- Participating in survey administration including inside of a custodial environment.
- Data coding and management.
- Adhering to codes of the conduct for research university activities and correctional institutions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice or a related discipline.
- Ability to travel regionally as assigned.
- Ability to complete training for Human Subjects Research in the social sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with primary data collection particularly with justiceinvolved populations and with conducting confidential semistructured interviews.
- Training or direct experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection
- Ability to conduct engaged research with justiceinvolved populations members of vulnerable populations and agency leadership.
- Highly organized and attentive to detail.

Additional Information
This is a Part time Per Diem position classified as nonexempt.The pay offered is based on the successful candidates qualifications and experience department budget and an internal equity review.
