Job Description

The YMCA provides a range of social housing sports health & wellbeing childrens services youth and community activities within Hertfordshire for the benefit of local people and communities. With a turnover exceeding 26 million and over 400 staff the YMCA is committed to making a difference in the local area through the services it delivers and the partner organizations it works with.
We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support us in preparing developing and analysing financial information which will enable our organisation to make wellinformed decisions to ensure future stability and growth.

In this rewarding role you will assist in the production of timely and accurate management information to all managers and budget holders within the group. You will also collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and provide financial expertise guidance and information across the Group by supporting colleagues with all aspects of Finance.

You will be at minimum CCAB partqualified (or with clear evidence of an equivalent level of attainment) with experience of financial analysis finance systems data analysis and managing a complex workload to deadlines.

The Role:
Assist in the production of timely and accurate management information to all managers and budget holders within the group.
Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data
Provide financial expertise guidance and information across the Group by liaising with staff on all aspects of finance.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts in line with group reporting deadlines.
Monitoringand evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed.
Provide a support service by working with service managers to interpret and communicate financial data.
Liaise with external agencies including external and internal audit banks customers and suppliers as required
Assist with Ad hoc financial reporting as required

The Requirements:
Minimum CCAB partqualified accountant (or explicit evidence of an equivalent level of attainment) alongside evidence of continuous professional development
Demonstrable experience of financial analysis
Experience of using integrated finance related systems


*This is a hybrid position; however candidates must be based in the UK and available for virtual meetings within GMT working hours and able to visit our Hatfield Hertfordshire when needed*

  • Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
  • Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
  • Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
  • Family support through a network of childrens and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
  • Therapeutic and nontherapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
  • Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire Luton and Hertfordshire
  • Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 1119 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
